Jewelry Purchases Around Chonburi/Pattaya

Featured Replies

Are there any reputable jewelry shops around chonburi/pattaya? From what I read good diamonds seem to be harder to find in Thailand. And we are also thinking platinum which is not popular in thai. yellow gold is still a thought. I was curious about World Gems in Pattaya, are they reputable? Should I just purchase here in the US? Any information would be of great help, Thanks!

Yes, purchase in the U.S.; too much chance of getting ripped off here IMO. And, don't forget the old saying:

"Marrying a Thai woman is exactly the same as entering a casino... Never go in with more money than you're willing to lose."

Great advice! I live in Las Vegas and managed to only spend $200 gambling in 7 years!

To clear up a few misperceptions

Good diamonds are availible all over Thailand, so dont know where you get that perception

Platinum is known and in certain cases popular with ladies.

World Gems is reputable if somewhat over priced

DEFINITELY purchase in the US. I looked at a wedding ring here and then decided to get one in the states. I paid $245 in the states (About 7,340 baht) for a nicer ring than ones they wanted 18,000 baht here. I had already bought my wife's ring here and it was THREE TIMES what I could have got the same ring for in the states....
