A-O Visa With Multi Entry

Featured Replies

I entered originally with a US Royal Embassy Visa A-O /Ret, issue date of 1Jul 2010, Multi Entry in: Aug. 2010, with stamp admitted until Aug 2011

Then left Kingdom from Nov 2010 to Mar 2011.

Re-entered Mar. 2011, Suvarnabhumi airport, using same visa; and received automatic extension stamp admitted until Mar 2012?

Anyone have this happen? Will they keep extending this if I leave and come back via flying?

YES, until the multi-entry "O-A" visa expires.

Tey will only keep giving you a 1 year extension untill your visa expires (1 year after date of issuence). So if you now leave and -re-enter you will not get another year.

If you want to leave and re-enter with keeping your permisison to stay till 2012 alive, you need a re-entry permit. Otherwise you will just get a normal 30 days when you return to Thailand

What determines that date? The first entry, or second entry? Can you be permitted to stay longer than your visa?

Date of issue - your visa expired a month ago. One year from date of issue.

You stay in Thailand with a permitted to stay stamp - not a visa - and in your cause you have a pre approved (A) extension of stay for one year from date of any entry during the one year validity of your visa. No your visa does not have to be valid to be in Thailand legally.

Yep. The Visa had a 12 month lifespan from the date of issue.

Permit my confusion please.... LOL

Issue date is 1-Jul 2010 - enter before 30 June 2011 Visa 1 year

Entered 18 Aug 2010, Visa starts, and accompanying stay until date is 17 Aug 2011 ( This is the 1 year Visa active date?)

Leave Nov -2010

Reenter 26 Mar 2011, get new stamp stay until date of 25 Mar 2012. (Is this an extension of the 17Aug date? Or is this useless and my visa still expires 17 Aug?)

Issue date is 1-Jul 2010 - enter before 30 June 2011 Visa 1 year

Your visa expired on 30 June 2011. You are confusing the visa expiration date with your permission to stay date, which appears to be 25 March 2012..

As we said the visa validity is from the Consulate date and has nothing to do with entry or stay in Thailand. Your visa expired on June 30, 2011 and can not be used again. You are on a permitted to stay until 25 Mar 2012 so about 30 days before that date you must visit immigration to extend your stay if you want to remain. For any travel you must obtain a re-entry permit prior to leaving Thailand to return for remainder of your permitted stay.
