This place has been open since late June / early July.

Great taste, not massive portions (European style), fantastic value, internationally-trained Thai chef.

It's closed on Mondays, and is not a romantic venue. (Thai style by the side of the road)

However, the food, service and prices are as good as you could ask for. The menu is extensive. The chef and staff speak good English.

It's called Uncle Chuan's and is positioned right at the very beginning of Putthaminthin 1 or, Thung MangKon soi 9 or 7. Half way between the bus station and Talingchan courthouse. You could walk from either, and would in the west, but a short taxi ride is more likely.
