Crime Mother-in-Law Attacks With Machete After Drunken Sex Remark
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. A 61-year-old woman in Surin has admitted to attacking her son-in-law with a machete after he drunkenly suggested that, having already slept with her daughter, he wanted to sleep with her as well. The incident occurred on the evening of 17 August in Trok Subdistrict, Sri Narong District. Emergency responders from Surin News Rescue Association and the Trok Subdistrict Administrative Organisation were called to the scene, where they found the victim, identified only as “Mr. Som,” lying unconscious and bleeding heavily from a head wound. He was rushed to Sri Narong Hospital for treatment. Witnesses said the man had been drinking heavily with his mother-in-law earlier in the day when he made the offensive comment and attempted to embrace her. Angered, the woman grabbed a machete and struck him several times on the head, leaving him collapsed and bleeding on the ground. Local residents reported that the man, who had married into the family, had previously made inappropriate remarks of a similar nature, though his behaviour was largely ignored until this violent altercation. Police are continuing to investigate the case and have not yet confirmed whether charges will be filed against the mother-in-law. Adapted by Asean Now from Khaosod 2025-08-19 -

JD Vance barred from English pub as staff mutinies over visit
Last month, in west London, I passed King Charles III driving himself and Queen Camilla in his blue Audi car. He had two motorcycle outriders in front, a Range Rover SUV (security) following and a further two motorcycle outriders. No motorcade of 27 vehicles. Was same for Queen Elizabeth 2nd when she was being driven in the marroon limo about 2010 when she passed within 6 feet of my vehicle in traffic. WHY? The eff does JD Vance need 27 vehicle motorcade in the tranquil Cotswolds? Good on Kaleb for his actions. Shame on the pub staff for their disrespect of a potential customer though. -

Crime Police Seize 1.6 Million Meth Pills in Chiang Rai Drug Bust
Picture courtesy of Naewna. Authorities have intercepted a drug shipment containing 1.6 million methamphetamine tablets being smuggled from the Tham Luang–Khun Nam Nang Non National Park area towards the city. On 18 August, officers from the Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB), Division 3, acting on intelligence that a drug trafficking network was moving large quantities of meth from the Thai-Myanmar border near Pong Pha, Mae Sai district, Chiang Rai, laid a surveillance operation along the route. The operation spotted a Mazda BT-50 pickup truck leaving a public road near the national park, accompanied by a blue-and-black Honda motorcycle acting as a scout vehicle. Both vehicles were tracked along Phaholyothin Road through Nam Cham village, Pong Pha subdistrict. Police successfully intercepted the two vehicles near a pedestrian overpass in Huai Khrai village, Mae Sai, detaining both male drivers. Inside the pickup, officers discovered eight sacks, each containing approximately 200,000 methamphetamine pills, bringing the total haul to 1.6 million tablets. The suspects were taken into custody and transferred, along with the seized drugs, to NSB Division 3 for further investigation. Authorities have pledged to pursue all leads to dismantle the trafficking network. Adapted by Asean Now from Naewna 2025-08-19
