Had some time on my trip to BKK so went to Bumrungrad, clawed my way through the  crowd to dermatology, and saw a doc to have a pesky wart removed from my hand.

Had one removed a few years ago back in the States. Cost $35 for the doctor visit and $40 for zapping the sucker into eternal oblivion. $75 or 2250 baht.

Doctor at Bumrungrad said he'd zap it then and there.

Okay, let's go.

He says 8000 baht.

Not sure when you were in the states, but I can assure you medical care is nowhere near as cheap as you describe.

When we were in the states last year, wife went to the local clinic for a cold, saw a doctor for 2 minutes and was prescribed medication.

Cost for doctor visit not including medication- 300 USD

Cost for medication- 50 USD

Precisely. The specialist claims it on the face so it's a more delicate procedure which requires a "special" machine. My wife said will call them back, when hell freeze.

Mirth: 50k to remove a wart?

Thanks for the offers, but I repeatedly spread some of the canned sardine in tomato sauce on it and endured my dog gnawing it off.

Cost: 16 baht.

At the (private I think) dermatology/beautification clinic at the Sriburin Hospital in Chiang Rai, last year, I had a number of growths (moles?) burned off with a heat laser. Cost 300 Baht per each growth removed. They haven't come back and the skin looks OK where they were removed. I thought 300 Baht per growth was a little high . . . now I won't think that.

Don't know what to say about the posts on this thread other than it sounds like some in the medical profession are following the example of the Pattaya Jet Ski scammers.

Get yourself some Duofilm (trademark) Salicylic Acid 16.7% Lactic Acid 16.7% (made in Ireland so it's got to be good) and apply it carefully to your wart. This is serious stuff so be careful. Read the directions and it will take care of your problem. Don't use on your face or your farang jr.

Sheryl is welcome to edit my advice but I think you should not have a problem.

I'll cut it out for a couple of grand.

Or get a rat to gnaw it off for nada.

A few years back, I went to Vibhavadi Hospital to get some skin tags removed. The total cost was around 2500 THB.

I get those too. After the first time I wasted time and $$$ having a doctor zap them with a fancy piece of equipment, I now just cut them off with a pair of sterilized scissors. No muss, no fuss. Plus I can drink the alcohol I use to sterilize the area.

Are you having fun posting crap? Does it make you feel powerful? Did you even read the OP? Get a life!!!

Typical of the attitude towards healthcare from the OP. A similar treatment in the UK would cost upwards of £300 at a private clinic. Do the maths.

I wish I knew where to see a doctor in the US for $35 and get a laser treatment for $40. Maybe from an unlicensed illegal immigrant in the barrio

An old wives tale:- take a small peice of steak and rub it on the wart then go and bury the peice of steak in the garden and forget about it. In a few days the wart has gone.

I did this once when I was a kid and it worked for a wart on my hand. B)

Joking about another persons health is not funny to me. Sorry if you think it is such a hoot.

It's a bloody wart mate, not cancer.

HappyRobert, perhaps you did not know but warts are transferable. If you concentrate very hard you can transfer it to Moonrakers and he can contend with it. Look it up as I am not joking! Moonrakers, prepare to be warted!

A wart is very close to cancer and should not be joked about.

Only in a very, very small amount of cases does it lead to cancer. All sorts of things can lead to cancer

I suggest you live in an oxygen tent buckaroo, there's all sort of nasty things out there.

Lighten up.

Oh

happyrobert.

It seems as though you are going to catch cancer from your genital wart, that is on your hand. i don't think we need to think too hard about how it got there.

Alternatively assuming a 1k Baht outlay per night he would be better advised to go back to his quack double quick....hurry up Robert...the meter is ticking....biggrin.gif

What are you talking about?

I offered to cut it out for him, and at a great price.

Got you last as I am turning off my computer now. Good luck with the wart HappyRobert gives you. I am not going to listen any more. Na na na na na with fingers in my ears. I hereby irrevocably sign off now. By.
