At a border you obtain a 15 day visa exempt entry rather than a visa. These can not be extended (although they often will allow 7 days to leave but may require proof of travel as well as the normal 1,900 baht charge). For a 60 day stay you would need to visit a Consulate and obtain a tourist visa (overnight stay most places) and return for a 60 day entry that could then be extended 30 days if required.

Immigration will give you 7 days to leave the country.

If you have a Thai Wife they will issue a 60 day extension.

Both the above cost 1,900 Baht.

The Royal Thai Police Immigration from Korat does a mobile service to both Buriram and Surin every month. Call to verify that these dates remain correct but the schedule for the remainder of the year is:

August 9, 2011 Buriram at the conference room of District Office of Buriram City

September 13, 2011 SURIN at Sri Narong Conference Room Surin City Hall

October 11, 2011 BURIRAM SAME LOCATION AS BEFORE

November 8, 2011 SURIN SAME AS BEFORE

December 13, 2011 BURIRAM SAME AS BEFORE
