many of us who live and are insured in thailand have problems with our insurance company , specially with health claims.

i had the same problem, i was fighting with my insurance carrier for about a year. finally, i filed a complaint with the OIC (Office of Insurance Commission) in phuket (they have offices throughout thailand).. the OIC is the body which govern insurance companies in thailand. i had a great experience with them, they went out of their way to assist me. in many cases, the OIC takes the side of the insured, especially when the health issue is in the "grey" area or if there is a conflict between the english and thai versions of the policy, etc.

i didn't expect much when i filed my complaint but i was pleasantly surprised at the treatment and how fast things started to move in the right direction.

the OIC phone # is 1186 and you can find the office near you.
