Document Camera

Featured Replies

I have been looking for a document camera-- (I imagine there are different names for them)- basically it is a camera lense that picks up the image of a book page or map and is connected to ones computer and the projector shows the image of the book page/document/ or photograph on the screen. I found a shop at Pantip (SP) and they were asking a ridiculous price...near 15,000 baht. Any suggestions? :whistling:

Wouldnt a decent printer & scanner do the same thing ?

very cheap, same result, scan page etc view image direct on screen.

Decent software you can manipulate however you want and then print it directly if needed too.

Adaptic technology companies always charge the earth for simple products like book readers. Buy a good webcam and then get someome to make a simple suport frame with optionally a moveable tray to permit moving the book if needed. THe addition of a suitible led booklight may improve utility. Total cost about 3000 baht.

Search for DIY book digitizing rigs with digital cameras. They are much faster than a scanner approach. If you also need OCR make sure the page illumination is uniform.
