Government Housing Bank

Featured Replies

Yesterday's Bangkok Post reported that the Government Housing Bank had increased the rate on its special savings account (max two transactions a month and no transaction of less than 1000 baht) from 1.25% to 3%.

Can foriegners open accounts with the GHB?

why not try - theres quite a few around - you can get an account with krung thai - another government bank - so why not GHB ?

Although Krung Thai may have worse service than a government office believe it is a public limited company. :o

Some things that have worked for me are - dress smart - suit, shirt and tie, have a credible reason for wanting it, if you dont have the docs they want provide something that is as good as, if you dont get then keep trying - do a different time or a different branch.

Has only failed once for me - when i wanted a bank of asia account - went to one branch and they knew i had tried twice before at another branch - but did give a consistent answer - which is quite good - still i didnt want to get 20000bt out just to have an account with good internet access (or so i beleived at the time) - which i could have withdrawn the follwoing day.

Any news with getting an account with GHB ?
