August 15, 201114 yr I cannot send faxes from different places in Belgium to my home in Ubon. The faxmachine in Ubon does work though, since it can receive faxes from other places in Thailand, and it can send faxes to Belgium. Any ideas what might be wrong?
August 16, 201114 yr Are you using one of the cheap international providers (rather then the regular international dialling prefix)? Many (if not most) restrict the bandwidth and don't work reliably with fax tones. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Many (if not most) restrict the bandwidth and don't work reliably with fax tones. Faxes are analog devises and don't work over a digital connections... Have you thought of a fax to email system?... I have a USA fax number thru trustfax.com... When someone faxes to that number the fax turns up in my email as an .pdf document attachment!... I assume there in a similar company in Europe...
August 16, 201114 yr Of course you can send fax using digital lines... Just attach an ATA, so might be a bandwidth issue like Crossy is stating
August 16, 201114 yr Author So, the problem is probably in Belgium (from where I want to send these faxes), not in Ubon?
August 16, 201114 yr Would seem to be the case. I assume that the fax in Ubon is just connected to the normal POTS and not through IP right?
August 16, 201114 yr Author Would seem to be the case. I assume that the fax in Ubon is just connected to the normal POTS and not through IP right? ADSL-telephone line (TOT), so yes POTS. Edited August 16, 201114 yr by chris26be
August 16, 201114 yr Might want to try sending a test fax from a fax machine in Belgium not using IP network just to be sure. But 99.9% the problem comes from belgium assuming you are pressing the right fax number, ha ha ha;-)
