Hi

You don't fill out a paper form. You fill in the on-line form, print it out and then your gf signs the printed version to be handed in with the rest of her supporting documents

I think you can only book appointments 5 days in advance but not sure about that. We're doing my wife's application next month so haven't got that far yet. Could you not fill in the application, save it and then have your gf go to an internet shop to log in, print and sign it when she has received the pack you are sending?

As you begin to fill out the online form, there are 'save' buttons every so often. The system then keeps your form for up to 7 days. You can log in again at any time and re-save it which will add another 7 days.

Then, when it's finished, you submit the form to the UKBA, then print it off. You can also still log back in and re-print it.

After you've submitted the form, you need to book an appointment. This is also done online and the system will only show the next 5 or 7 days (can't remember exactly). You then get a confirmation page which you can print out.

All the way through this process, every time you save your form, you get an email sent to the address you registered with them when you started,

It contains your application number and anything you need to log back in again (you need to make sure you remember your password, they won't let you reset it!)

So, you can fill the form out, saving as you go along, then submit it, print yourself a copy and then your g/f can also log on and print herself a copy, which she needs to sign and take with her to the appointment, along with all the supporting documents of course :)

Have a look here http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/applyonline/onlineapplicationfaqs/ for more info

The above answers all relate to a UK application.

Is it the UK you are applying to?

VFS handle visa applications for many countries.

I only need 2 bits of information for my online form and then i submit it. still waiting for the UK A1 Test paper which is been delayed and then add the information on the wedding.

My only fear is , when i press the submit button, The system will crash and i will loose the lot!!!! Maybe should do a paper copy too blink.gif

Save it, it's the little red button that looks like a 'pause' button. then you can go back and finish it off later. (it is kept for 7 days but you can go back into it and save it again, giving you another 7 days)

I too had that fear, however, when you finally do submit, you get an email confirmation immediately, so you know all is OK.

All I would say is to check thoroughly before you submit. Once submitted you cannot change anything on the submitted form,( you can make minor corrections to the print out you manually submit to VFS)
