I used internet statements and had them stamped by the bank. They seemed used to that request.

However, if you haven't signed up to receive your statements that way, then you need to use the ones they post to you.

I don't think it will matter if they're not bang up to date, three weeks ago should be fine. If the latest one was four months ago or something like that, it might be different, but they've got to realise the time it takes to get these things and the fact that they originate from the other side of the world.

If you're in any doubt, why don't you sign up for internet based statements just after you get the posted ones then print out the latest one when you land in Thailand and stick that in with the rest?

I have read the advice about supplying original bank statements as online statements could possibly be altered, I have always submitted online statements, I have never had them stamped, they have never been queried and the visa applications have always been successful. As Thai Visa Express points out, ECO's do realise that most people use internet banking, they probably do so themselves, they are able to check the authenticity of the information supplied if they are in any doubt.

As biff indicates, statements that are three weeks old should not be a problem, they are looking at the overall picture.

The ECO can ask for further evidence if required & they generally do these days. I am sure looking at your statements as long as you can demonstrate that you can maintain and accommodate her as per the rules you should be fine.

  • If you have already been financially supporting her then ensure you draw the processing eco attention to this. As this may reflect in your bank statements, as will regular visits to Thailand. Also if you have an agreed overdraft with your bank get evidence of this via your local branch.

Good luck
