Visa Transfer, A Few Q'S

Featured Replies

So i got a new passport, and i need the my visa transferred to the new passport.

I assume i have to do that at chaeng wattana.

But i've never been there.

So here's a few q's.

What time is good to go.

Anybody knows what i need to bring, apart from the 2 passports, and the statement from the embassy.

Is it easy to park there, i'll be driving.

What time of day is good to go?

Thanks

NK

Do you have a visa (90 days or less stay) or a one year extension of stay? Do not believe they bother to transfer visa entry stamps anymore and let you just show both passports when you depart. If an immigration issued extension of stay yes you go there and fill out a one page form and they transfer information of original visa/passport and permitted to stay stamp into your new passport.

There is parking on street and inside a huge parking area behind the main building so should not be a problem - but I always take taxi and about 120-140 baht from Latphao. As for what time it opens at 0830 if you want to be one of first in queue but I arrived for 90 day report at 0945 today and only had a total 25 minutes even with 22 in queue ahead of me. Remember it closes for lunch 12-1300.

They will not transfer a Visa.

They will only transfer Immigration Stamps.

Avoid Mondays and Fridays if you can because they are very busy.

I always park on the street in front of the building entrance with less than 5 minutes walk from the car.

In Jomtien I was not asked for an Embassy letter, just the two passports. Actually a free service!

Thanks for the answers.

I will travel with to passports.

On another note.

I have a 1 year visa, and i am bout to get my last stamp.

Is it true that i need to get the last stamp on the date it was issued, or is it the date of entry.

thx

It will be the expiry date on your visa.

This will be 12 months from date of issue.

hmmm, it doesn't have an expiry date,

It says entry before 14-09-2011

And date of issue 16-09-2010

Date of first entry was 25-9-2010

Its a non b, 1 year.

It says entry before 14-09-2011

That is the expiration date.

It can not be used for any more entries after that date.

You must do your final entry BEFORE 14-09-11.

Before or is 14 th ok?

By English usage it should be before the 14th. In recent years have not seen any reports of it being blocked on the actual day. But it could be.

Amusingly I had to transfer my extension stamp to my new passport and they actually transferred every visa and extension stamp that was in my old passport dating back to 2005, nice gesture but occupying the first 5 pages of my new passport was highly annoying.
