MisterMan
Hi I have been using google apps for my company email for a long time. I use the imap function with Thunderbird. In the past when I deleted emails it would still be saved in the "all mail" Thunderbird has done some up grades and I am not sure if that what affected it or what?????????? This also seems to be a problem with my personal gmail account. Please advise. I have attached a copy of my settings. What changed? Also and what about this new migration bs? I am supposed to set up yet a new account? Edited August 25, 2011 by MisterMan
jybkk
AFAIK nothing changed. Updates in Thunderbird should not affect this, and your settings look correct. What exactly is happening? Can you try to send an email to yourself, then "track" both in the webmail and on your thunderbird what happens to it? For example: if the "read" status is reflected on both sides, then if you move it to another folder, then delete, etc...
DTiger
Have a look here Recommended IMAP client settings. The "delete message" option seems to be wrong, even if I am not sure about the result of yours. I'm also using different gmail accounts and thunderbird 5 (or 6, I stopped following) and it's working fine! MisterMan
Thanks. The new thunderbird has a mandatory "When I delete a message" function. According to the gmail imap setting as you mentioned nothing should be checked.
