Criminal Record +Married Visa

Recommended Posts

remember your friend will need the documentation from his Embassy stating he is not married and can be married, then this form needs to be translated into Thai and stamped by the company who translate it, then he needs to take it to the MFA on Chaengwattana and get it officially stamped before he can get married.

After he has got married and has the certificate and the page from the Official Register he can then go to his local Immigration office and apply for a change from the Tourist Visa to an extension of stay in Thailand because of marriage to a Thai National.

Nice to see a Thai posting on here asking advice for a friend.

No criminal record check is required. That is only required for an O-A visa (retirement). Your friend applies for a tourist visa, as he is not married yet. Once married he qualifis for a non-O visa.

ok an mario for Non O Visa he have to do border run everry 3 months or not

As Beano says, once you have the Affirmation of Freedom to Marry from your Embassy you get it translated to Thai and stamped by the translator. Take this to the MFA They will then stamp the Embassy paperwork confirming everything so you are able to marry.

It is the office next so Soi7 but on Chiang Watanna Road where passports are issued. They register foreign document translations.

There is no marriage visa but a non immigrant O visa can be obtained and that is for 90 day stays. It can be single entry or multi entry valid for one year of 90 day stays. To obtain the multi entry may require funds in a Thai bank account (100k for Kuala Lumpur to issue).

If husband intends to live in Thailand a one year extension of stay from Immigration only costs 1,900 baht per year but requires several visits and proof of 40k per month income or 400k in Thai bank account (in his name) for 2 months.

he will have to check on his Embassy website, translation service around 400baht could be more.

thanks beano have a good day

If it is easier you can get an agency to deal with everything for him. Or you can do the MFA bit, you just

need him to sign a document telling them that you can do it on his behalf.

1. He goes to his Embassy and hands them an Affirmation to Marry.

2. After getting it back from his Embassy stamped, he gets it translated.

3. He goes to the MFA to get it all certified.

4. He gets married.

Then he goes to the Immigration office with

a. Copies of Passport and Departure Card

b. Marriage certificate

c. Marriage Registration Kor Dor 3

d. The correct form

e. Photograph for the form

f. 1900 baht

g. Wife

h. Wife's ID card

i. Wife's Tambien Baan

Think that is all, he will be given 90 days, in this time he should get a Thai Bank account in his name only and transfer the required amount 400,000baht, this he needs to keep in his bank and not use. Then before the 90days are up, he goes to Immigration with the above and a letter from his bank about how much money is in the account, plus copies of bank books, and applies for a 1 years extension based on marriage. He will have to go to Immigration every 90days to report his address.
