huawei
Hi I am currently on a non o visa extended annually based on thai child.I would like to change my status to a retirement visa, as i intend to retire and my daughter will at some point go abroad to study and will not therefore be able to attend the immigration dept. I assume i will have to apply for a new visa.Do i need to leave the country to do this or can i do this in Thailand. I should i apply for the non-oa visa immediately or wait until closer to the renewal date of my non-o Thanks
Lite Beer
You will not be applying for a Non Imm O-A Visa. You will be applying for a 12 Month Extension based on Retirement. You can apply at Immigration within the final 30 days of your current extension. (2) The applicant is 50 years of age or over; (3) Proof of income of not less than Baht 65,000 per month; or (4) Account deposit with a bank in Thailand of not less than 800,000 Baht as shown in the bank account for the past 3 months at the filing date of the application. For the first year, the applicant should have that amount in his bank account for not less than 60 days or (5) Annual income plus bank account deposit totaling not less than Baht 800,000 as of the filing date of application
lopburi3
Just change the reason for your extension of stay the next time it is due. There is no new visa entry required.
InterestedObserver
1. You cannot get a "O-A" visa in Thailand, only your home (resident) country. 2. You can renew your existing non "O" as a 1 year extension of stay based on retirement from immigration in Thailand, provided you qualify.
