Hi all looking for some help and feedback looking to go on a 15 day holiday in central thailand in march 2012 with my Thai wife of 3 years we are both in our late 20s.

I have been all over thailand at this stage and i am looking to do very little traveling and enjoy a nice relaxing holiday.

I was thinking of doing 5 days in hua Hin 5 days in pattaya and 5 days in ko samet in this order do you think this is a good idea or would you do it in a different rotation and maybe spend more days in one place and less in another i would appreciate all answers and experience on this.

Thanks

Niall

Hi,

If you like to have a nice relaxing holiday, then what about Cha-am instead of Hua Hin and Pattaya, your wife is Thai, most Thai do love Cha-am.

Hua Hin, well I live here but would say 5 days is about enough, Pattaya, 5 days is to much for me but depends what your into, Samet 5 days is about right, love that place been there around 20 times, am going down there again the week after next.

If you don't drive it's also easy to get around the 3 places, from here you can get a minibus direct to Pattaya about 4.5 hours, then Samet is another hours drive to the pier, if you want to go direct to Samet from Hua Hin you can get a minibus to Victory Monument about 2.5 hours then change to Samet about another 3 hours.

Sounds a good trip you have planned, have fun!

I think your plan sounds great. Pattaya is where you could party it up a bit, and relax in the other places. Plenty of new places here in Pattaya on 3rd road that are lots of fun. I heard of a new place called Kapo Dang (spelling?) on 3rd road. It's a Thai country place...lot's of Carabao music!

If you really want to relax...with pretty much nothing to do...try this place. We were there for a few nights and loved it:

I spent many hours in that hammock on the front page of their website. Beautiful beach.

relaxing holiday but you are both in you 20's??? Cha Am has nice beaches is great for a couple days (if the jelly fish arent swarming) but the Hua Hin is kinda the mature retired expats town filled with waiting for God characters!!! haha.. The only thing is that your missus may find fun is the night market but she is thai and she has seen hundreds of markets.

Pattaya is a city unlike any other with every and anything available for entertainment. yet is not on the same coastline.

Maybe it would be best to stick to the same coastline and if Pattaya is on your agenda, try Koh Samet, Koh Chang and Koh Larn and and all relatively easy transport to Pattaya.

If it was me I'd head up north to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai lots to do up there with trekking, moutain biking, kayaking, national parks etc etc. maybe stop of at Ayuthaya enroute.

Good luck

I think yr plan is great. its probably the number of days in each u may want to modify. pattaya for me 5 days wud drive me nuts max days 3 for me. Hua hin i wud do 4 days, bangkok 2 nights, then pattaya 4 nights, then samet for the balance.

I run a guesthouse in Ban Phe called Bedrock Guesthouse Bar & Grill. If yr coming to Samet and u miss the ferry times u can always bunk here for the nite and chill and get the ferry in the morning. march in Samet is brilliant altho high season prices are in full force.

Well if we can help in anyway or check out things for u drop me a message

Cheers
