Internet Access Via Mobile Phone In Pak Chong Area

Featured Replies

Guys..It looks like we will be borrowing a friends house in the Pak Chong area for a while. I want to get out of Bangkok but don’t want to ‘jump out of the frying pan into the fire’ so to speak so want to see what it is like living there before committing ourselves.

Having stayed at his Pak Chong place a couple of times I don’t recall him having a house phone but do know that his iPad would work there.

So what I want is a suggestion as to how I can get internet access, e-mails and some periods of downloading maybe a few hours a week at least. Using a USB connection to my laptop.

I need to buy my wife a new phone anyway...at present she has a 200Baht a month package with True and I have a 60Baht package with DTAC. Guess that I’ll have to up one of these somewhat, or go with another company.

So could someone actually advise me what I would need to buy..phone and internet access package. An actual phone recommendation (the least fancy the better but it’s got to be able to let me access the internet via it) and an actual phone/internet package would be great...costs etc...thanks.

just plug an aircard direct into your laptop.

AIS has one I bought some time ago...so prices most likely not current....but it was around 3k baht and included 6 months of 50 hours per month.

You can get all different hour deals...100, 150, 250 etc......the aircard works great and wherever you can get a mobile phone signal.

True had very nice Smartphone packages before 31th July. I'm not familiar with the location but True probably has 3G coverage in that area if it's located in Greater Bangkok province (Bangkok and vicinities like Nonthaburi).

AIS may not have 3G coverage in your area. However even edge would be sufficent to check emails and some small surfing.
