Mario2008
Buri Ram to Open New Border Pass with Cambodia A new border pass with Cambodia will open in Buri Ram Province on September 14. Buri Ram Governor Thanee Samartkit said a new temporary border pass called Chong Sai Taku in Chanthop Phet Subdistrict in Buri Ram's Ban Kruat District, opposite to Am Pun Subdistrict in Udon Meechai's Ban Tia Am Pun District of Cambodia, is expected to open on September 14. He noted that both Thailand and Cambodia have vowed to extend their cooperation to prevent and suppress cross-border crimes and drug smuggling, as well as improve collaboration among local government officials to increase efficiency to tackle shared problems. The governor added there will be more clarity about goods to be distributed at the border pass after the upcoming discussion between soldiers and local administration officials of the two nations. -- Tan Network 2011-09-
Mario2008
It is unclear if this will also be open to other nationalities besides Thai and Cambodian. Also note that for now it is a temporary border pass.

Orac
The map does not show a road on the Cambodian side - anyone have any personal experience ? Wonder if they have built a casino there yet - maybe that is why there is no Cambodian road and they are just going to supply everything from Thailand
prakhonchai nick
There are many roads in the border area (Cambodia side0 all leading to Samrong, from where there is a reasonable road to siem reap. I doubt that the border will be available for foreigners to cross -certainly whilst temporary.

I sincerely doubt that this new Border Pass was opened with even a thought of it being a convenience to the Farang "Tourist / Border Run" pack of hounds. There are far more lucrative benefits for Government Officials on both sides of the Border in having their own privately controlled Crossing.
