Update New Firmware Galaxy S2 (Ais) From Kies!

Featured Replies

well the post topic says it all .. well i wish it did :D acording to a thread on a thai forum http://droidsans.com/node/29078 there is a update for the GS2 that has been rolled out on kies for the thai GS2 wwith original firmware .. is this the case ? is kies updating for you ? its not for me :( still says no update available

I have DTAC and when I turned on the data today it did a software download with a blue and red arrow I've never seen before, but clicking on it wouldn't tell me what it was.

Has anyone seen an update for the i9100T?

There's an update for the i9100t on kies...

current PDA:KF4, latest PDA:KH2..

Is this update specifically for Galaxy S2 phones on the AIS network?

Are there any issues with running (especially) an unlocked Galaxy S2 (or any other phone) here? What is the normal practice (or options) for using an unlocked phone in LOS?

All phones here are sold unlocked. There is no service provider subsidization here per se. All service providers do sell hardware, typically at MSRP, so 18,900 for an SGS2, but they do throw in a lot of extras, including discounted data plans. For example, AIS adds a 399 baht/30 day/3 GB of 3G/EDGE+/unlimited WiFi, for 12 months (pre-paid) on a new SGS2, in addition to a ton of accessories.

If you are coming here with an unlocked phone just buy a SIM, activate it, add money and choose a voice/data plan.

I think localized SGS2 product (I9100, I9100T) had custom firmware releases, maybe with Thai-centric functionality, and in some cases maybe the modem wasn't the best for Truemove? I believe Truemove/Samsung might have corrected that with a new release or maybe a CWM ZIP? Some of these other updates may or may not address specific issues here? Hard to say without seeing the release documentation. If you're bringing in an SGS2 I wouldn't worry.

Thanks so much for that insight! I will look forward to see whether my cheapo Thai phone works on a network overseas.

Strange that Thai KIES only have 2.3.3

When in Europe have 2.3.5 !!

- ROM flash will avoid the warranty :(
