Hey guys, am heading to Penang tomorrow to get a double entry tourist visa with my girlfriend as I did 2 years ago but it seems there might be some new requirements, or maybe they were always the "written" rules but something I never needed before and was not expecting!

It says online we need to proove 20,000baht per person and a paid eticket. Is this really necessary? And if so what is the best way to provide them? Is a bus ticket from Hatyai to the boarder enough to an exit ticket??

We are British and Turkish citizens.

I do not believe there is much chance you will be provided a two entry tourist visa in Penang but please advise everyone and what was required as will be the first report I have seen in a long time. Those have been requirements but often not asked. They have been reluctant to even issue a single entry if any sign of long term stay in Thailand (and you seem to be in Thailand now). For two entry Cambodia seems to be the best choice and perhaps Vientiane second best but it does vary so perhaps Penang is back in business and you will be successful. Good luck.
