? New Rule Change For Wp On Dependent Extension

Anyone have information or experience on a supposed new policy on WP application whilst on Dependent Extension?

Been told by the Labour Dept, that WP will no longer be issued to those having dependent extension where the spouse is not Thai! This is after having a WP issued on this extension for two years already. After changing jobs and applying for a new WP they now insist that a new Non-B visa is required. As the new employer does not qualify yet for sponsoring employment extension this means going back to 90 day border runs which seems crazy.

Appreciate feedback if anyone else has come across this - is it a new rule from the Ministry of Labour or just the local office being difficult
