Retirement Visa

Featured Replies

I live in Pattaya and have had a retirement for the past 8 years. My yearly visa extension is due on 17th November.I have a plane ticket out on the 11th of October and may not be back in time to renew it.Would they allow me to renew early October before I leave? Any help appreciated Thanks John

They usually do allow it if you have a good reason.

Go and ask them.

And reports from Jomtien are they allow 60 days early as routine.

Actually Jomtien was known to allow up to three months early until recently so that is likely the reason for the sad face.

Same situation for me in Pattaya in May. I was able to get a new retirement extension 2 months early. Went armed with flight eticket but the officer never asked me for anything. He just gave me a 14 month extension. Hardly a word was spoken. A couple of months later an acquaintance came into the condo block with a long face. I asked him what the problem was and he said he'd just been refused an extension. He couldn't understand why they wouldn't give it to him THREE months early!

Actually you got the standard 12 month extension...it's just the new extension runs 12 months from the end of your current extension whether you get the new extension approved 1 day, 1 month, 2 months, etc. before the current extension expires. But in a round about way it does "feel like" a 14 month extension.

Wouldn't it be great if a person could get an extension today which carries him to a year from now and then tomorrow go back into immigration and apply 11 months & 29 days early for another extension and get the extension approved that early....good to go for two years. I would be willing to do the separate paperwork and pay for two extensions within two days if it got my extension of stay date pushed-out 2 years....a person can dream.;)
