Would any people owning properties care to share their experiences in renovating their houses. Adding outdoor areas, extra rooms, decks, retiling floors etc etc. If you are willing I would love to hear the stories along with prices of course and any possible recommendations for builders/carpenters etc. I will be very grateful for any advice in this matter...Thanks for taking the time...Mike

There's a TV forum specifically for this here. It's not hugely active compared with the CM forum but there are some very helpful regulars on there and you'll find the sort of thing you are looking for. Other forums exist but can't be publicised on this board. If you're considering using a particular contractor for a major job you can often make contact with previous victims customers to get the real info on their workmanship.

If you google " thailand construction forum " then you will find one that IS highly active and includes loads of pictures and excruciating details, setbacks, and overcoming those setbacks. Some build topics span 10-20 pages of posts, very therapeutic to read. This includes renovation projects, new builds of both modern and more traditional wooden structures, and also a very nice topic on an entire house built out of (treated) bamboo. Also Google " thailand construction famous threads " which has some archived stories that are amazing to read.

The rest of that site can be a very sad place even compared to TV.com, but the construction topics are a super-resource.
