astral Posted November 6, 2005 Share Posted November 6, 2005 Make sure that what ever you choose it is 11g, not 11b. 11g is much faster. If your router/hub is the same brand as the card in the PC you will probably get further speed advantages. Each manufacturer has his own speed tweaks to go beyond the standard. Rigger <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Whatever you buy make sure you enable "WEP" encryption on the link, so all the locals do not get free internet. From home here I can see about 15 'points of access' and none of them have WEP enabled, so if I was not such nice chap, I could downlod from this access point and use them to browse the web (smile).
