September 15, 201114 yr Badgers are fierce little buggers and won't back down from anything. They are about the size of a small dog, but they will whip any dog of any size in a fight. We were shooting gophers for a local rancher and this badger came out and grabbed on of the rodents. He wasn't about to gve it up. I've heard they will protect their den from grizzlies that are 20 times their size.
