thaimite
Today there have been many articles on the about Windows 8 requiring secure boot to be enabled for compliance, and that by enabling secure boot feature it will be very hard to install Linux. Some examples of the articles can be found here, here and here With desktops I feel there may be many options available, but for those of us who must rely on Laptops I see more issues in getting a good brand machine that can be reformatted to take your OS of choice, and careful research will need to be done before purchase What do you guys think? Will it be a big deal or will it be like DVD copy protection that there will be many ways round it for those who want too retrofit or dual boot their machines. In my opinion I am sure there will be ways round it for the Geeks, but it will be yet another hurdle that possible Linux converts will have to overcome before they can even try an alternative OS Over to you.. thaimite
Running it as a virtual machine is one way out. I do not want to be forced to buy a Windows license just so as I can run my OS of choice as a virtual machine This also makes me wonder, if Windows 8 be able to run as a virtual machine? .
