estephan500
Hi folks. We're going to build a sandbox for my daughter. Where is a building supply place that's big enough to have something like sand that's appropriate for playing, etc? I suppose we'd get the lumber there too... Where would you go? Thanks for any thoughts -- Eric
WilliaminBKK
Not to rain on your parade, a friend of mine in Hua Hin built one for his little ones and it became an ant farm, he thinks a couple of factors---- the sides were too high, it was in the shade, kids may have eaten some food, didn't have a good cover etc
ignis
Yes Ants...... 2 houses down from me she had a sand box for the kids, did not take long before the big black stinging ants moved in
BuckarooBanzai
Build yourself a sand box with cement blocks. Make sure you put in a PVC drain out of the bottom of the blocks with a filter. Fill the sandbox with washed sand available anywhere. Let your kids have fun. If ants come flood your sandbox with water and when all the ants are dead drain through the PVC pipe. Take care of your kids and do not listen to people who say they are to much of a problem.
estephan500
Good tips from all. I'm not as worried about the ants because we are building this on a balcony of an apartment building -- further from the creepy things, and also the apt is sprayed for bugs every month including balcony. But we'll see if they come. So, just getting regular sand from a building place is the way to go? No additional considerations on the sand? Also, any favorite building supply places in BKK?
