New Passport

Featured Replies

I just had my passport renewed and will be able to get on October this year, however, My old passport still has my MAIDEN NAME and status was still single and also my ED VISA stamp is in there.

This DECEMBER i have to extend my ed visa for another 3 months. My question is, Can I use my new passport with my married name and married status to get the extension stamp?

Will appreciateany further insights!

Cheers!

Angel

Once a new passport is issued your old passport becomes invalid so no you can not obtain a new extension of stay using that passport. You must transfer current extension of stay and original visa information into the new passport when received and use that for your new extension of stay. Due to name change you will also need to have proof of marriage (or any other name change paperwork) to prove the new passport is you.

The above assumes you really do have an extension of stay from immigration rather than a 90 day visa entry by exit/return to Thailand on a multi entry non immigrant ED visa. If you have visa entries you just exit with both passports and return with both (but again as there is a name change you will have to have proof of that).
