Thai Men Fear Unfair Trial In Australia

Featured Replies

Another murder atributed to Thai's being reported in the Aussie press.

"Two Thai nationals charged with murdering Melbourne man Luke Mitchell fear they will get an unfair trial if sent back to Australia, a court has been told".

Yes it could be unfair....but chances are it will be more unfair here.

Maybe they are mistaking unfair for real justice. Remember the guy in the Porsche cut a girl in half ,I think he just had to pay the parents some money. Australia they put killers in jail.

Also the crime happened in Australia so it is an Australian matter.

Australia they put killers in jail.

But thats not fair, he is guilty.

This is quite an old murder case. The men fled to Thailand immediately after committing the murder. They are apparently from fairly well-off Thai families and there appears to have been collusion from Thai police at Suvannaphum to allow them to enter Thailand without any problems.

I wonder if they are really being held in detention. Certainly 1 of the 3 isn't as is reported in the article.

~~~"My nationality is Thai. If I am found guilty, I'd like to be punished in Thailand," he said.~~~
Should have stayed in Thailand then buddy.
Nothing to do with fair trial or not,...Its all to do with the fact that they come from well off and probably quite well connected Thai families and so problems including murder charges will be far easier to solve in Thailand than in Australia....
