Just in case anyone is heading that way, as of yesterday:

Work continues at the Denchai junction but the only thing I could see working was the new traffic lights. Work also continues on the dual carriageway right up to the junction of the 1105.

The road through Thung Salaeng Luang national park towards Khao Kho is showing signs of wear and very rough in places, hopefully it does not return to the same state it was in around 15 or so years ago,

The Road through Khao Kho is blocked west to east due to the condition of the road surface. Diversions onto the frontage road are in effect.

The dual carriageway into Khon Kaen is also showing marked wear and is becoming very rough in places, certainly a marked changeover the past few months. The road out east of KK, the 209 looked in better shape. 2116 excellent.

Water levels from Khon Kaen onwards are high and around Roi Et way there are a few houses with just the roof showing, fortunately the road is elevated.

The 23 into Ubon and 24 out of Ubon (at least once you get past the University) are in good shape

The water levels in Ubon are very high but looked to be 2 or 3 feet below the bridge road surface.

None of the roads used were flooded or very close to flooding.

Just completed the reverse trip Ubon - Khon Kaen - Phitsanulok - Cnx.

No major problems on any of the roads.

Some road widening works west of Ubon and around the Yasathon bypass

Major road widening works continue on the western side of Chum Pae with some changing of Carriageways. Some minor road windening east of Chum Pae.

The West-East section of Khao Khor through route is still closed with no work in progress, all traffic is diverted onto the frontage road. East-West is ok.

There are a number of small landslides through Nam Nao national park which are being addressed. The main problem is 14km from the western entrance to the park, the east-west part of the road has disappeared down the hill with a single muddy track for 100m. They were working on it yesterday with traffic control(!!) Men with flags!

Road widening work still continues south of Denchai. For a few Km it is ok but then it is back and forth between carriageways until you reach the junction with the 1105 after which all work ceases and you can relax. I would not drive it at night time unless I had to.

Minor landslides through the hills the other side of Lampang but nothing interfering with the roads.

Otherwise all water levels from here to Ubon appear to be receding. Some flooding aorund Roi Et as previously noted but at least more than the roofs are visible now!
