Tonto21
Great…..I leave Europe……and it follows me out here! Am I the only one to think, (I don't know) but with this being Thailand…and even Mickey 'D' is seen as Hi-So. Do you think the prices will be reasonable? I don't, I think it will be viewed as Hi-So.. So High price. I may be wrong, maybe. 'Charlie007' are you as excited as you come across in your post, or are you being ironic? I really can't tell. jingjingna
Personally, I can see Ikea as being Hi So! In Thailand no one buys furniture that they need to put together themself..it'll be a case of Hi-so buying the stuff and then getting a handyman in to assemble it for them! I must be living in a different Thailand because all those tent furniture shops don't sell anything other than furniture in a box, same with the supermarkets. bkkjames
Amazing to see just how bored bangkok expats are when they get a flushed with the news of an ikea catalogue comimg out. I get this way when the new tv guide comes out only to be left slightly disappointed that its the same pizza promo from the month before. However, all is not lost, I eagerly anticipate the hords of locals carrying them on top of their ipads for all to stare at in envy on the skytrain. Not quite as face gaining as a box of krispy kream, yet still enough pulling power to get an extra long glance from the diy wannabes commuting back and fro to work. Ricardo
Hope they have Swedish meatballs med potatismos & gravy ! And those chocolate/oat-balls covered in shredded-coconut, and the big-packs of biscuits, and Swedish-crispbreads, and Lakerol, and open-topped prawn/egg-sandwiches ! I suspect that the sting-in-the-tail will become apparent at the check-out, sadly. Edit to say ... almost forgot Glogg !
