THAI YOUTHS HAS ORGANIZED A CAMPAIGN AGAINST AIDS

A network of Thai teenagers in UBON RATCHATHANI (อุบลราชธานี) Province has organized a campaign for the World AIDS Day.

Mr. THANETSORN CHANRATTANAYOTHIN (ธเนศวร ฉันรัตนโยธิน ), the coordinator of this campaign, said the agencies of the United Nations, including UN AIDS and UNICEF, MTV Thailand, the Thai NGO Coalition on AIDS (TNCA), and other concerned parties are jointly organizing this event. The campaign’s objectives are to raise awareness AIDS hazard and allow AIDS people being a part of community. The campaign’s objective is to educate people on the dangers of this disease. In addition, it will also urge the general public to welcome and accept the AIDS patients in their communities.

The campaign is be organized in 12 provinces, namely CHIANG MAI (เชียงใหม่), CHIANG RAI (เชียงราย), NAKHON RATCHASIMA (นครราชสีมา), KANCHANABURI (กาญจนบุรี), KHON KAEN (ขอนแก่น), CHON BURI (ชลบุรี), RAYONG (ระยอง), YALA (ยะลา), SURAT THANI (สุราษฏร์ธานี), NAKHON SAWAN (นครสวรรค์), AYUTTHAYA (อยุธยา), and UBON RATCHATHANI (อุบลราชธานี). The campaign is being held until November 10th, 2005.
