Good news for all us WOW players

I'm going to reroll and join Khaz'goroth (Normal, Oceania-preferred)

Doubt the latency will be much better but will be good to play with players from our region

Here is the full press release...

"Blizzard Opens 6 New World of Warcraft Realms

Due to the continued growth of World of Warcraft’s population, Blizzard Entertainment has just opened six brand new realms for the game in North America. These realms give players eager for a fresh start a chance to create new characters and begin adventuring in a new copy of the game world.

In addition, the six new realms provide gamers who are interested in trying World of Warcraft for the first time an opportunity to do so on equal footing with other players.

The new realms that opened today are listed below. They include a combination of normal, player-vs.-player (PvP), and role-playing player-vs.-player (RP-PvP) realms, offering a variety of choices in terms of preferred play style and realm rule set.

Azshara (PvP)

Agamaggan (PvP)

Lightninghoof (RP-PvP)

Malfurion (Normal)

Frostmourne (PvP, Oceania-preferred)

Khaz'goroth (Normal, Oceania-preferred)

In support of World of Warcraft players based in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, Blizzard designated one normal and one PvP realm as Oceania-preferred. This means that the time on these two realms is set to GMT +11, providing players who have previously had difficulty attending time-sensitive world events due to time zone differences better opportunities to now experience this content. Because of the need to conduct weekly maintenance simultaneously for all realms in an individual region, the Oceania-preferred realms will have scheduled downtime at the same time as all other North America-based realms."

This is a good development. I rerolled to blackrock a couple months ago, if you didn't know, blackrock has been the unofficial Oceania server. At 3pm Thailand time, there is generally a 10 minute queue to even get online, and there are probably a dozen australian guilds who have progressed past Ragnarok.

I am hoping they will allow transfers at some point, probably in about 6 months, at which point I'd like transfer to Frostmourne, the pvp server.
