It would have been in Thai so I would have failed miserably anyway.

You can take the theory test in English.

Far more straight forward to get an IDP than to sit any test, but as the OP says, they didn't request one.

Well done OP. The license can be used as a form of i.d.

Mine expired last year though, so have to go through it all again next time.
