Where Best To Change 100,00 Bht Into Nz $'S ?

Featured Replies

Hey guys

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum but just wondered if anyone could advise where best to change 100,000 BHT into NZ $'s ?

Obviously im flying back to New Zealand and still have cash so was wondering would this amount just be acceptable to change at the airport on the way out?

Or will i get stung by the exchange rate and maybe even commision? (currently around 23.77 to the BHT)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

Never at the airport!

Rates are a rippoff.

If you really want to squeeze the maximum out of your THB, go to Super Rich (Ratchadamri).

Keep it for your next return. ;)

NZ dollars cash aren't in much demand in Thailand, and Thai baht cash aren't in much demand in NZ. So in both places, these currencies probably fall into the "exotic" category and are exchangeable only at poor rates. You have to do the computations yourself to be sure, but in a case like this it's usually cheapest to change your NZ$ to US$ in Thailand, then US$ to NZ$ in New Zealand. Yes, even though you're conducting two exchange transactions,

And for THB100,000, you should certainly should be heading to a place like Super RIch, not the airport.

I assume you mean "your TH฿ to US$ in Thailand, then US$ to NZ$ in New Zealand".

Of course, thanks.

THB in NZ is surely exotic.

NZ$ in TH is not soo exotic according to the published rates (e.g. Bank of Ayudhaya).

The margin of buy/sell is: 23.40 to 24.62 (about 5%). For the USD its about 2%.

Real exotics on the table: South African Rand, Indian Rupees, misc. arab curr.

Never at the airport!

If you're in the Sukhumvit area then go to Vasu Exchange located on Sukhumvit road between Soi's 9 and 11.
