bangkok blue
I was thinking of getting the train back to Chiangmai 21st October, but remember it being said that services being suspended! Is it likely to still be too bad for the train to pass through by then?
lomatopo
Hopefully the flooding will have subsided by then. It seems like is bad around Ayuthaya rather than the usual spots like Phi Chit and Pitsanalouk? There will be a lot of pent-up demand, but even that should be worked through in the next 14 days? If you must travel on/before that date, and are concerned maybe best to purchase an airline ticket now?

Lakegeneve
I know it is already the 21st and you undoubtedly know that all trains are suspended to the north so this is moot, however I just wanted to suggest the radical idea of checking the SRT site for updates and giving their english speaking info line a call in the future. http://www.railway.co.th/home/ Flood update (19/10) http://www.railway.co.th/srt/pr/news/viewshownews.asp?idnews=
