Proceedures For Collecting Dog (Cargo) At Lax?

I am flying Korean Air to LAX at end of month with my 7kg dog as cargo. I know all I need up are up to date vaccinations and especially rabies and and health cert. from a specialized Thai government vet.

But what happens to my dog once we land at LAX? Will she come through the normal baggage claim? When does her paperwork get looked over? Does an "on-sight:" at LAX look her over, etc., etc.,? Is she being checked while I am going through immigration myself? Or do they wait until I am there?

Basically, what ALL can I expect regarding this subject?

Oops!! I just wrote you a post about importing a dog into Thailand, now I realize you're going to the US! I'm sorry I don't have any experience with that (yet), but I hope all goes well.
