I am married to a thai woman and she has a double citizenship since she has lived in sweden since she was 4 years old (the changed the rules so she now has both swedish and thai citizenship). Does anyone know if it will make it easeier for me to get a one year visa?, we are moving to thailand for a year to start with at the end of january we both will be enrolling in school and we have the sufficient means to support ourselves so we will be no burden to the thai state)

Som jag har förstått kraven på ett års visum för giftemål (har det själv) så är den största anledningen att få det beviljat är att hon har fast adress och att du försörjer henne. + att du uppfyller de ekonomiska kraven.

Men eftersom hon har bott i Sverige sedan så lång tid och troligen inte är skriven på en fast adress i Thailand så kan det ev. bli problem.

+ Hur är hennes Thai-kunskaper ? För att immigrationsmyndigheten intervjuar er båda vid ansökan.

Som anledning kan ni ju säga att hon nu vill flytta hem till sitt hemland för att bilda familj.

Men om du har tur så kollar dom inte upp det hela så noga.. men mitt visum tog över 2 månader att få det beviljat.. trots att jag hade uppfyllt alla krav.

När jag ansökte var det 200000 baht i en Thai bank ( i Juli 2004 ändras det till 400000). eller kombinerat pengar på banken och certifierat intyg från Svenska ambassaden i Bangkok om en inkomst på drygt 20000 baht i månaden ( ändras till 45000 baht i Juli 2004).

Men det är ju bara att ansöka och hoppas på att det löser sig till det bästa.
