Larn Island official “relocated” due to land concession scandal

PATTAYA: --A meeting to discuss problems with land concessions on Larn Island took place at Pattaya City Hall on Wednesday. A 320 Rai piece of land which has been cleared for development is at the center of protests by residents of Larn Island, located 4km off the coast of Pattaya. They say that the land should be returned to the public and the person who authorized the land concessions should be fired. Khun Itipon, the Mayor of Pattaya told delegates that protesters had 4 demands: 1. All land concessions should be cancelled with immediate effect 2. Khun Sutum, the Deputy Bailiff of Larn Island should be removed from the position with immediate effect. 3. The land should be returned to public ownership with immediate effect. 4. All future concessions on the Island should be considered at Public meetings.
