Nist School Vs Kis School Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hi All

We need to enroll our kids in an PYP/MYP/IB accredited school and it looks like these two are the options. At first glance it appears that NIST would suit us and our needs best - however not necessarily our pockets. I would like some feedback about the two and would like to know from you whether it is worth paying that little extra for at NIST or whether KIS has a good enough reputation. (We are western expats for what it is worth).

Thank you!

No one?

I am on the same boat. Seems like there is not a lot of feedback out there on KIS, maybe because it's a fairly new school compared to the others. Or maybe because the parents are not members of this site, haha.

Anyway, we will be visiting Bangkok by end of month and we'll be scheduling campus tours for both NIST and KIS. Will post my comments when I get back.

On a side note, you might want to call NIST when they open next week to check if they have an available slot for your child, because mine is on wait list. Good luck!

We went to an open day at KIS, and thought it was great.

Their headmistress, Sally Holloway is internationally renown in the IB community. She sits or has done on various international boards. The facilities looked great, and the teachers seemed genuinely committed, and passionate about their work. There's a lady called Linda Belonje (sp?) who heads up marketing.

I'd recommend making an appointment and at least visiting.

We don't send our kids there, as it's not so convenient to travel at their young ages. It is one we would consider for the future though.

Hi sorry for the late response. Jenigirl please give some feedback once you have compared the two schools. I will of course also pay a visit as soon as it is possible. Fletchsmile your post is encouraging. I still struggle to make sense of the school fees in relation to the cost of living in Thailand. Compared to other countries it simply does not make sense and does not sit well with us but then I am sure you all know this. Thanks again.
