Most Reliable Cell Data Connectivity (Cnx, Bkk, Hkt)

Featured Replies

I'll be in Thailand for once a month for the next few years. What is the best option for a pre-paid SIM with data? I don't mind getting a new SIM every time I visit, so a SIM with expiry is OK.

My phone supports 900/2100 - 3G, so from lamatopo's posts I see that DTAC/TRUE is no good because they require 850 MHz for 3G. I'm looking for reliable data connectivity...3G would be great, but a reliable EDGE network to fall back on is required. I will also need to call internationally, so good rates would be helpful, but not required if I can get reliable 3G/Wi-Fi access for Skype/VoIP. Is this new roaming agreement between AIS and TOT helpful?

I'll be in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket -- with a bulk of my time in Phuket (in Patong and near Kamala) and the rest in Bangkok with a short visit to Chiang Mai. I don't think I will use more than 500M in a month.

Thanks and I look forward to participating in this site as a helpful resource!

Your choice is AIS/One2Call and........ AIS/One2Call. :) If you've seen Lomatopo's posts then you will know which plans they have available.

Turns out my phone has both 850 UMTS and 900. Is AIS still the way to go?
