Mobaan
I currently have my car in my name . To be able to purchase I had to go to the vehicle reg . office and the Immigration office to get required doc's. Now if I want to sell , can I do this w/o any "approval" from government agencies or do I need to get any special paperwork done beforehand? Jim's_a_Thai_Fox
Hi, I was in the same boat a few years back and didn't have to do anything different to a Thai person selling their car. I would recommend photocopies of those documents just in case... but to sell there are no special 'farang only' documents required. Cheers Jim
msg362
No, you can just sell it, you will need to sign the transfer paper for the new owner, and maybe arrange transfer of any 1st class insurance you may have. There will be a small tax to pay depending of the price of the vehicle, ( I split that with the buyer- on a 500,000 price it cost us each about 1200 Baht). The tax is decided by the price you and the seller agree to put on the transfer paper and of course that should be realistic.
