Removal Firms

Featured Replies

Can anybody recommend a good removal firm for moving between sois in Sukhumvit? Don't mind paying a reasonable amount for a competent firm but I don't want to shell out for one of the big international companies if it's not necessary. Thanks.

Is that international quality at local price? Doesn't exist. If your gear is worth tens of thousands of dollars, do you want to leave the move in the hands of a part time som tam vendor?

I guess your refering to Somchai and his pick up vehicle. Is there any other kind in Thailand. You can get the entire house contents into one pickup, see it all the time stacked 10 metres high and the vehicle leaning to oneside whilst travelling down the road.:D

bigmovethai 4k - used 3 times.

Guess you should be looking for a removal company which has boats within its fleet...:whistling:

Yes, international quality for local moves (within Bkk) does exist. I've used Crown removals twice, both times:

- They did a proper reccy in advance, both the departing location and the arriving location

- Contacted the 'office' in both locations in advance to check:'house rules', equipment available, etc.

- Arrived on time, all fully organized, packed everything in no time at all, well packed, staff clearly well trained.

- Supervisor and all staff good listeners, all had a 'can do / customer is king' attitude. Happy team. Supervisor spoke excellent English.

- Everything unpacked and put into cupboards etc at new location quickly and neatly. No breakages.

- One lady in their team assigned to getting drinks etc., for my family and her team, continuously getting used packing into bags etc.

- Supervisor and all staff kept asking if there was anything more they could do.

- Boss from HO called several times to check if everything was OK.

- Careful to not cause annoyance or disruption to neighbors.

Totally first class. Last time was about 8 years ago, total price from memory 7,000Baht.

As I recall, Crown "Worldwide" is an international company....even 8 years ago.

Thanks for these replies, esp the one on Crown, which I'll try. Maybe I wasn't clear: I want a proper removal company, not the back of a lorry, but I was looking to see if there was a local firm that might be cheaper than the internationals.

The cheapest reputable local moving companies are Big Move and Seabra. Also a very professional Thai guy called Pat owns a moving company called T Removals

big move is great
