This is incredibly epic.. Best thing to happen to Chiang Mai since.. well, since Bubbles closed a couple years ago.

It's already open it seems, but official opening party is Oct 31.

EDIT: For the newbie army: It's located in the basement of the Porn Ping Tower Hotel. That's where Hot Shot is.

It always had an emergency exit door at the back. I know, because that's how I used to get in without paying a cover charge. Later on I didn't bother with that because the cover was very reasonable; basically just the price of what a beer would cost anyway, so the only aim really was to ensure that people buy a drink.

Yeah your right it was pretty cool back then . I was in my mid twenties back then and pretty new to Thailand. I staggered out of there more than a few times at 200am back then. Or was it 100am closing back then I cant remember ?

The heading says Bubble"S" I had the picture of thai bargirls pleasing the sexpats in a bubble bath. Bubbles is a typical name that brothels adopt.

I believe there was an s (or apostrophe-s) in their first incarnation in the 1990's. After the first remodeling it became 'Space Bubble' (no s) with the space/moon theme. Indeed there's no S in the current name.

First what it's not.

It's not: A brothel

It's not: A firetrap; there are three exits, including one on the upper level. These all lead to separate exits to the outside.

It's not: overpriced; beers start at 100 baht. They serve light meals and snack foods too. (Similar to Hot Shot, the other entertainment place at the Porn Ping tower.)

I checked it out yesterday; they're open even though the official opening party is Monday. It looks extremely promising, and the whole interior has been redone, to the point that I spent the first 20 minutes wondering if there is any space left that's in the same place it was before.. All the stairs have moved, also the entrance is completely different.

For farangs interested in a Disco with some action, Bubbles was the place to go . In true Thai Disco style, the music was blaringly loud. However the worst thing was the smoke was always heavy. After 20 - 30 minutes I would be desparate to get out to get some clean air in my lungs.

Will be sure to check it out though my next trip to CNX. The pics look good, and I'm assumiing it will now be smoke free (banning indoor smoking is the best thing the Thai government has done in my 5 years living here).

bubbles was quite nice place some three years ago, but then they did some changes and after that the music was too loud and you couldn't smoke inside and the place was full of gays. soon after that they closed.

hope something has changed.

good music, not too loud, smoking area inside and inexpensive beer. it would be one of a kind in chiang mai.

That was before smoking laws. Even Spicy is clean now from smoke, as is Bubble.
