While all the talk about the flooding has been doom and gloom (and quite rightly so) I thought about some of the positives that can and should come out of the disaster.

Firstly, the Government has had a massive wakeup call and can not rest on complacency with the people. They will have to be on best behaviour and ensuring policies are in the people's best interest from now on or things could turn on them pretty sharpish.

Secondly, the putrid water that lines many of Bangkok's klongs should have had a good clean out.

Probably over optimistic on the second point as well.

Ask not what you can do for your country but rather what the country can do for you

Or in the Thailand's case ask not of your country but what the fuc_k is your country doing????
