East Pattaya Fishing Park worker drowns as he searches for missing fishing rod

PATTAYA: -- A worker at an East Pattaya fishing park drowned as he was attempting to retrieve a fishing rod from the man-made lake at the Park. Police and rescue services made their way to the Mama Fishing Park off Soi Neun Plub Wan in the East of Pattaya. The body of Khun Biyapong aged 18 was retrieved from the lake as friends and family members looked on. It was determined that earlier in the day a foreign patron had mistakenly let go of his fishing rod as he was in the process of catching a fish, causing it to be dragged down to the bottom of the lake. Khun Biyapong went in to retrieve the rod and came up for breath complaining of severe cramp. He then went under and was not seen alive again
