Lite Beer
@PouYingluck is back @PouYingluck, twitter account of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, is back to business on Wednesday after being hacked in October. Her staff posted "Sawasdee Ka, today PM's twitter has returned to work again (PM's staff)." In early October, Ekkawit Thongdeeworakul, a university student hacked Yingluck's twitter, posting eight messages to the account. "This country is a business we run for our cronies and not for the Thai people. We serve our supporters and not our opponents." "Do the poor have a chance? We are exploiting the poor hoping for their votes to support us to plunder the country." "Is it time for our country to change for the better and not project an image to aid businesses, vested interests and relatives?" "You can’t protect even your Twitter account. How can you safeguard the country? Think about it my brothers and sisters." Ekkawit, 21, was brought to a press conference after he surrendered. Information and Communications Technology Minister Anudit Nakhonthap told reporters that the student surrendered on his own and promised to use his IT expertise to help the ICT Ministry to fight against other hackers. Anudit said he had no malicious intention in hacking Yingluck’s twitter account. Ekkawit, wearing big hat and sunglasses, did not speak a word at the press conference. -- The Nation 2011-11-

Buchholz
. Worth noting with this new update article of Yingluck's Twitter that the real hacker from last month has still yet to be found. Interesting development in that Ekkawit apparently did not commit the original email account hacking of Yingluck. Instead, the ICT Ministry doesn't know who did that, but whoever did, published the information in a hacker forum, where Ekkawit picked it up and hacked into her Twitter account. Maybe the existence of this bigger gaping hole is why Yingluck's ICT Minister didn't allow Ekkawit to speak to the media during yesterday's news conference. Confusing reports by the ICT/Police, no? I thought they said that they caught the person who actually hacked into Yingluck's account but this young man just simply used the password that was available to access her account. Also, from what I read, they traced Ekkawit through his home IP address; no real hacker would be caught that easily. It's as if the real hacker posted it online to see which idiot would actually use it. The person who hacked into "Yingluck's account" was caught. That's Ekkawit, but he only hacked into her Twitter account. He wasn't the one that hacked into her email account that produced the information that Ekkawit used to hack into Twitter. Ekkawit is not a real hacker as he was only using information that was previously posted on a forum. The real hacker that provided that information and then posted it is unknown and has not been caught. Edited November 2, 2011 by Buchholz

If it was something like We're nearly through it: PM I'd probably say something like... well, that's par for the course. Still, I'm most curious as to the identification of the REAL hacker in this case. Apparently Ekkawit's cooperation with the ICT Ministry did nothing to apprehend the true culprit. Since he/she is still on the prowl, how long before a new target is selected? Perhaps? Jatuporn Prompan Facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jatuporn-Prompan/116423268405181?ref=ts . Perhaps you should use the time, instead, to master the quote function. . Edited November 2, 2011 by Buchholz
