Hi,

where to send the 90 day report

Chaeng Wattana as usual or Suan Plu?

lazy to waste a lot of time at Suan Plu

anybody did reporting by mail since Chaeng Wattana has been flooded?

Given the situation in Bnagkok, not surpising. I suspect that many people are in the same position and immigration will not make a problem of it. Your receipt shows that you send it before the due date, so hang on to it.

I understand the delay but the thing that confused me is that in the tracking log it says that on the 11th Nov (Friday) the place was closed. Anyway, I still have time till the 18th B)

I sent mine via registered mail near the end of October, no receipt gotten yet. I don't normally post it in, but the flooding situation is bad. I would expect a massive backlog, and I wouldn't expect to get my receipt anytime soon.

I am hoping someone in Thai Immigration understands there is a major natural disaster that affects all services. I am assuming there will be some considerations as long as we fulfil our end of the agreement.

I mailed my 90 day report in to Chaeng Wattana yesterday via EMS... about five days ahead of my due date.

The clerk at the Post Office, who saw what my envelope was and what it was for, asked if I understood the delivery likely would be delayed because of the flooding...

I said yes, of course. And I asked her "How much delayed?" And of course, she had no answer.

Definitely keeping the EMS tracking receipt and proof of mailing notice.

There was another poster in a current thread on a similar topic who was claiming that some Immigration office was giving people grief if they couldn't show proof they had mailed their report at least 10 days before the due date....

The Immigration web site does recommend mailing 7 days ahead. But I've always assumed that was to allow time for regular mail delivery. EMS, under normal circumstances, is much faster.

In the current circumstances, though, it's a bit unclear to me what deadline approach Immigration is likely going to use:

a - that you mailed on or before your actual due date and have proof of mailing.

b - that you mailed it at least 7 days before your due date and have proof of mailing.

c - that they received the report to their office by the due date, or within 7 days after.

I'm hoping/assuming it would be option A. But knowing how Immigration operates, who knows...

If they decide to use option C, I suspect a lot of us mailers are going to face headaches.

Maybe this will give them the jolt they need to introduce some sort of online reporting, surely it would be far easier for them.

I'm not holding my breath though, they will probably carry on with pointless , IMHO, system.
