I went in there the other day to see what they had to offer. I was told they were full up and had no rooms to show. I was given a card and told to call the salesman on it.

The card had two numbers on it and both were not is service.

They have two pools along with a small gym. There is several restaurants one of them is on the roof along with a pool and a great view .

I might add I was looking for long term residency. Has any one any knowledge of this place.

It is located on the back side of hillside 4 you can go in the front door of hillside 4 and walk straight through to it.

I lived there for 8 months last year and really liked it. Possibly slightly over priced but it was nice to have no bills for electric/water/internet, have 24 hour room service, daily maids, two pools, gym and a really nice restaurant on the roof. Also, all long term guests are put in rooms on the top floor which has great views and close to the rooftop for a quick swim.

The actual rooms are OK, but no balcony's on the 16th floor where long-term guests are put and some of the rooms could do with a refurb. They do have amazing, newly refurbished rooms on the 5,6th floor though but they wouldn't let me move there which was lightly annoying mad.gif

What was the rate?

I stayed in the two bedroom Furama suite which was quite expensive at 48k baht per month, But it was absolutely huge at around 220 sqm. I'm not sure on the the other room rates exactly (and they have probably changed by now) but it was something like; Smaller 2bedroom apartment, 37k baht p/m. 1 Bedroom Large apartment, 26-9k baht p/m, 1 Bedroom studio style apartment 18-20k p/m

This room looks just like the room I stayed in a few weeks ago in Furama hotel. The furniture and decor are exactly the same (even those sofas and coffee table in the distance) except there was carpet on the floor and the desk had a big "executive" style office chair. The normal walk-in rate was 2520 THB per night (including breakfast), and internet rate via asiarooms.com was around half that (without breakfast).

Is the condominium a separate building from the hotel?

Not sure what the story is there. The desk was very evasive about it told me I would have to call the sales department gave me a business card with two numbers on it both of which were not connected.

They let me look at the gym, pool, rooftop pool and barbeque. Suggested if I was walking down a hall and they were cleaning a room have a look in. I did saw a nice studio and a nice really big two bed room.

Jackr says he stayed there for 8 months. It was a bit pricey for the two bedroom but I don't want or need one. Perhaps a one bed room. He says the long stay are up on the 16th floor.

The view from the roof ws stunning Just about 360 degrees.

That's the one great pictures.

Thanks, I took them earlier (actually not, just in case I get done for fraud).

It was Mr hahaha who said he'd stayed there for 8 months. Does look nice, though, and very much like the side of Hillside 4, in fact... did Furama buy it off them?

If it's operating as a hotel, too, surely a girl could show you a room. Probably best off booking a room through Asia Rooms/Agoda for the night... if you like it, stay on. ;)

So is it a hotel or condominium, or both in one building, or both in separate buildings? I stayed in what I thought was only a hotel.

There is Hillside Condo next door that you can walk through from Furama via a pathway to get to Huai Kaew road (and then a short walk to Nimmanhaemin road across). I don't think we are talking about Hillside condo - whilst walking through the dead quiet lobby to go to Nimmanhaemin road, I get the feeling that it once was a luxurious place, but it's now way past its heyday.

No not

Hhillside4 condo I agree it is past its best before date. Nice enough but no life in it.:jap:

When the building was completed it was named Hillside 5, it was marketed as a condo building, but due to overpricing sales were very slow. Some time late a deal was done with a travel company & the building was re- registered as a hotel & re-named Furama

The top two floors of the Furama are for long term guests only, so that is the 'Condo' section. The rest is just a normal hotel. And yeh, it's very different to Hillside 4 which seems pretty run down

Yeh I always noticed that the elevator certificates still say Hillside 5! Also, I think it was actually 2 (maybe just 1?) other hotels before it was Furama. One being the Grand Heritage, which I checked out a couple of years back and was ridiculously over priced.

By the way the long term guests section of the Hotel does not look like this unless they have been refurbed in the last 6 months. The layouts the same but it's older furniture and different flooring. Can dig out some photo's if anyone is actually interested
